The Federal Government's Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program (NELRP)
The Federal Government has a loan repayment program for nurses. The Program is known as the Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program (NELRP). There are a number of different ways to obtain information about the program and/or to request application forms:

Federal Scholarships, Grants and Loans
In addition to the NELRP, there are other scholarships, grants and loans available for specific purposes such as advanced practice education or geriatric education. Information about these federal grants may be found on the web site of the Department of Nursing

State of Nebraska Nursing Student Loan Fund
The State of Nebraska also has a forgivable loan program for students currently enrolled in nursing programs in the state. A limited number of $1,000 loans are issued each academic year. The loan is forgiven if the graduate practices nursing in Nebraska for at least one year following graduation. For information on these loans, contact the financial aid office at you nursing program.
