Flood relief fund designated to help hospital employees
NHA donates $5,000 and encourages member participation
Heartland tornados and flooding left hundreds of
Iowa employees suffering from devastating losses. Some lost everything, yet they
continued caring for patients and neighbors who were ill or suffered injury as a
result of these tragedies.
In an effort to help the estimated 400-500 heroic
health care workers rebuild their lives, the Iowa Hospital Employee Disaster
Relief Fund has been established.
Join the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) in
making a donation to this fund. Every penny will be disbursed to hospital staff
in the affected areas of the state.
"The NHA board of
directors has committed a $5,000 donation to jumpstart the Nebraska relief effort," stated Laura
Redoutey, NHA President. "Hospital employees need our assistance. Every little
bit counts."
The Iowa Hospital Association (IHA) has set a goal
of raising $250,000 within the next two weeks. However, donations will be
accepted through Labor Day. The IHA and American Hospital Association (AHA) have
already pledged $150,000 to the relief fund.
Donations by check should be made out to "Iowa
Hospital Employee Disaster Relief Fund" and sent to: Iowa Hospital Association,
100 E. Grand, Suite 100, Des Moines, IA 50309-1835, Credit card donations will
be accepted online at www.ihaonline.org.
You may also donate through the Nebraska Hospital Association's website at
www.nhanet.org.
All donations are tax-deductible and will be
administered through the Iowa Hospital Education and Research Foundation, a 501
(c)(3) charitable organization associated with the IHA.
